The boys varsity water polo team beat Marin Academy on November 11 to advance to the NCS finals against Northgate High School. Tam kicked off the semifinal game with an immediate goal. However, Tam trailed 1-3 by the end of the first Quarter. Marin Academy’s goal in the second quarter prompted Tam’s coach Robert Kustel to call a time-out. A brief speech restored confidence and was followed by two consecutive goals against Marin Academy. In the fourth quarter, Tam tied the score 5-5, and finished with an 8-5 win.
