Tam’s boys varsity water polo (4-0 in MCAL) continued their 13 overall game streak on September 26 with a win against Justin-Siena (0-3) and a final score of 15-4.
Despite Tam winning by a large margin, head coach Robert Kustel continues to encourage the team to improve every game. “It wasn’t our best game, but we certainly played well enough to win,” he said.
The first quarter was a shutout, with goals by senior and Tam News reporter Connor Norton, sophomore Connor King, junior Cian Concannon and senior Spencer Wirth.
Justin Siena managed to put some points up on the scoreboard in the second quarter, managing two goals while Tam countered with an additional three.
The third quarter was another shutout for Tam with four goals, and the fourth quarter ended with both teams scoring three.
Top scorers for Tam were Norton and junior Gary Griffis, each with three goals, and leading for Justin-Siena was senior Luke Jeramaz and sophomore Brix Kowalski, each with two goals.
As for the future, Kustel has his eyes on bringing home some trophies. “We’re looking to contend for both MCAL and NCS crowns this season,” Kustel said. “Both are attainable if we continue to work hard and play as a team.”
