Tam junior TK Dahlke was the lone Red Tailed Hawk at the state swim meet this past Friday and Saturday May 19th/20th at Clovis West High School in Fresno. Dahlke competed in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events, placing 19th and 17th, respectively.
“I love big meets, and this is the biggest one High School swimming has to offer.” Dahlke said. “Competition is a huge part of why I love swimming, and there’s no shortage of it at state.”
Dahlke’s multi faceted arsenal in the pool is what sets him apart from the local competition. “TK is the right combination of intelligence, ability, and discipline that makes him a stand out student athlete.” Tam boys swim coach Ken Weber said. “He’s a pleasure to have on the team.”
Although he is pleased with this year’s results, Dahlke has loftier goals for his senior season. “I want to win 50 and 100 individuals in MCAL and win the 50 at NCS. Then get back to state and make some noise there.”
In addition to swimming for tam, TK also swims in the offseason. “I swim year round first because I enjoy it, and secondly because I want to be able to use it as an asset. As of now, I plan on swimming for whatever college I end up at, Division I swimming requires year round work.”
