Tam’s leadership class organized a blood drive in the student center, on October 30. According to co-commissioner of Leadership’s Outreach Committee, senior Ellie Evans, the Tam community’s participation in the event was a pleasant surprise. “We had significantly more blood donations than expected,” she said. Junior Jada Andrews donated blood for the first time. “I participated because I’m close with people that have had blood problems and I am also interested because I would like to be a paramedic when I am older so I might as well start familiarizing myself now,” she said. With the help of Blood Centers of the Pacific, Tam was able to make a small dent in the crucial need for blood donations. “We hope that our upcoming spring blood drive is even more successful!” said Evans.
