Coming off its first home win against Saint Ignatius on Wednesday, Tamalpais High was riding high heading into Thursday’s matchup against the San Marin Mustangs.
However, the Hawks came up with a less than fortunate start. Sophomore Jasper Feldman opened the scoring early, putting Tam up 1-0. San Marin fought hard, tying the game at 3-3 with 3:13 remaining in the first quarter.
The Hawks steadied the ship, however. Senior Andrew Wallace scored two goals late in the first half, that helped change the momentum.
At halftime, the Hawks led 13-7. Wallace continued his strong performance in the second half, scoring two quick goals in the third quarter.
Tam ended the third quarter ahead 20-8 and closed out the game with a commanding 24-9 victory. Feldman and Wallace each contributed 6 goals, and senior Declan Murphy added 5.
“We’re super happy about getting a win and gaining momentum for the big game against Redwood,” said Feldman.
“A win’s a win. Looking forward to a great rivalry matchup against Redwood next Tuesday,” added head coach Max Pollack.
The Hawks improved to 3-2 on the season. They face Redwood on the road Tuesday, Sept. 16.
