Coming off of a tough defeat at Redwood Tuesday, the Hawks were looking to regain momentum in Wednesday’s home game against Marin Academy (MA). Junior Samir Meleis started out the scoring at 1-0, which suddenly became 7-0 after the Hawks poured on six more goals. While the offense remained steady, the defense was the highlight in Wednesday’s home win. “(We had) defensive intensity like the bad boy Pistons” Remarked coach Max Pollack referring to the 1986-92 Detroit Pistons remarkable defense. At the helm of the defense is Sophomore goalie Ethan Wallace, who gave up just eight goals against Redwood, and four tonight versus MA. “Intensity and Effort. Just keeping up the good vibes,” Wallace said. Two-way sophomore star Jasper Feldman also produced massively on the defensive side with 4 steals and 5 goals on offense. Tam came up with the 17-4 victory after senior Declan Murphy put the nail in the coffin with a full pool heave for a goal. This match puts the team at 4-3 on the season, with their next matchup at home against Terra Linda next Thursday 9/25.
