Tamalpais girls water polo maintained their dominance vs Terra Linda this Thursday at home. Tam came into the game 7-3 with a national rank of 24 and a California rank of 15 via MaxPreps. On the other hand, Terra Linda has struggled to start the year with a record of 1-5.
The game began with junior Sabine Barringer scoring an early goal to set the tone for the rest of the game. Going into half the score was 14-3. Last year’s first team all-league player junior Julia Ulvestad had high praise for the defense’s performance on Thursday: “We have a special defense that allows us to shut down the center and top line but also transition faster to offense.” The transition to offense from defense created many goals from senior Reese Arwin, sophomore Catherine ‘Cat’ Philp, and junior Sophia Uhlorn-Thorton that led the hawks to a commanding victory of 24-7.
Next Monday at 6:00 p.m. the Hawks hope to keep their momentum in their matchup against Saint Ignatius at home.
