Tamalpais boys water polo lost 16-3 against power house Capolindo last Tuesday at home. Tamalpais came into this non-league match up strong with a season record of 12-5, a California rank of 45 and a national rank of 57 via Maxpreps. They were challenged by Campolindo, with their national rank 11 and California rank eight.
The game kicked off with great defense by both teams. It took until the last three minutes of the first quarter for the first goal to be scored by Capolindo, and they never looked back. After Capolindo went on a 10-0 run, Tam got their first goal of the game in the third quarter from senior Navy commit Declan Murphy.
This was then followed up by two more goals in the fourth quarter by junior Rogan Burke. “Even though we came up short, we still fought hard and didn’t give up,” Burke Said. “It was also especially hard missing Andrew (Wallace) who broke his hand in the previous game.”
Wallace, Tam’s leading scorer and UCLA commit, was absent which impacted Tam’s offensive output. Last Thursday, Oct. 23, the Hawks beat Novato 21-10 and hope to keep that momentum on Thursday at Archie Williams in a semifinal matchup.
