The Tam boys varsity soccer team defeated Marin Catholic for the second time this season on Wednsday, November 7 in a 1-0 victory. For the second season in a row, the team has advanced to the final round of the North Coast Section championship. The game was back and forth without any score until Tam News reporter and starting goalie, Kenny Rosenberg booted the ball down the field in the last minute, reaching junior Teddy Mauze off a small header from senior Mohammad Manneh for the game-winning goal. “I knew Teddy was up the field, and I did my best to hit a ball that he or Mo would be able to make a play with. They are both so solid in the air. Mo got his head on it, setting up a beautiful finish by Teddy. He’s clutch.”
Although the score was low, the team felt that they played well throughout the match. “We were playing so much better than our last match against them,” senior Nick Silva said. With this win Tam advances to the NCS championships with high hopes of defeating top-seeded Mario Carrillo this Saturday, November 10, at Santa Rosa High.
