Popular wrap and salad spot Café del Soul announced October 29 that it was fighting a “losing battle” with a German cockroach infestation, and reported “live roach activity” on their Facebook page on November 2.
The café reopened the week of November 5, reportedly clean of roaches, and accompanied by signs that said, “You can’t buy honesty, but it comes free at Café del Soul.”
“They told people about it, so that makes them a good organization,” senior Emily Rostek said.
Senior Julia Atkin remains faithful to the restaurant. “I’ve dealt with tarantulas and frogs in a shower. A minor cockroach in the wall doesn’t concern me,” she said. “I went there yesterday.”
