Superintendent Laurie Kimbrel announced to District 113 in Highland Park, Illinois, where she had signed a three-year contract, that she was officially requesting her new contract be canceled, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Kimbrel issued a statement via email on January 12 to the parents, teachers, and students of the Tam District communicating her intent to resign effective June 30, 2015, and take a job at another district.
According to the Chicago Tribune article, published online on Sunday, March 1, the Director of Human Resources for District 113, Tony Loizzi, told staff that the Highland Park Board of Education will vote on the cancellation of Kimbrel’s contract at a Board meeting on March 3.
As of publication, neither Kimbrel nor the Highland Park officials could be reached for comment.
