Three men, including a Tam alumnus, were killed in a car crash off of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard early on Tuesday, October 18.
The driver of the vehicle, Chance Maurer, 18, and Lancelot Argall, 18, were both alumni of Drake High School. Maurer and Argall, along with Tam alumnus, Chancellor Argall, 20, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), officers were alerted of the wreck by a passerby at approximately 12:15 on Tuesday morning. Responders located the wrecked 2013 Toyota Corolla off the side of the road, west of Samuel P. Taylor Park, near Lagunitas.
Preliminary investigation shows that the the vehicle was traveling westbound on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, when Maurer veered off the road into a ditch, and the vehicle struck a pole and two trees, according to the CHP.
The three occupants were found wearing seat belts and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved, but toxicology exams have been scheduled for later this week, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
