Over the next two months, Marin County is offering a series of panels and workshops called Race Matters.
The panels are about how race overlaps with topics like criminal justice, health, jobs, environment, and housing. Tam principal J.C Farr will speak at one of the upcoming panels about what the community can do to help students succeed.
“I think that it is important for people to have open and honest discussions about how race impacts schools,” he said.
“Race has an impact on your life. I think for some there’s a positive impact and for others there is a negative impact, and so any time you have the opportunity to be part of the solution, be part of the conversation, I think is beneficially for students to participate, regardless of what your race is.”
