Tamalpais High School’s second semester is in full swing.. There are 10 weeks left until summer, so it is time for senior festivities to begin. After four years of hard work, these are Tam’s class of 2025 upcoming events where the seniors will finally get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Prom:

Prom is the first major event on the calendar. Tam’s prom will be held on Saturday, May 3 at San Francisco City Hall. The theme is red carpet.

“City hall is very much like a museum,” All-Student-Body (ASB) president, Jordan Harrosh, said. “When I first heard we were going to do it there, I immediately thought of the Met Gala.”

Harrosh felt the theme would fit well with students’ fancy attire. For entertainment, Tam has hired a DJ as well as rented casino tables, and many other games. Handheld food stations will provide snacks like sliders and crepes. According to Harrosh, tickets are expected to be available at the end of March. Prices will begin at $85 and rise as the date approaches.

Senior Trip:

A school sponsored senior trip is another celebration the class of 2025 will participate in. Every year ASB leadership representatives work with administration to host a grade-wide trip before graduation. This year the trip will take place on June 6, but the location has yet to be confirmed. According to Harrosh, the current plan is for the class of 2025 to attend Rebounderz in Rohnert Park, California.According to their website Rebounderz has many facilities and activities such as trampoline arenas, foam pits, ninja warrior courses, and dodgeball. Ticket prices are expected to be about $10, according to Harrosh.

Grad Night:

Perhaps the most exciting event of the year for the class of 2025 is grad night. According to Vikki Goldman, Executive Vice President and interim Student Services Chair of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), graduates will be picked up from Tam High at 9 p.m. on June 10. The buses will drive students into San Francisco where they will embark on a cruise around the bay from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Along with the three level boat, with both indoor and outdoor areas on each level, Goldman said PTSA has paid for a dessert bar, DJ, arcade games, and casino tables to entertain Tam grads. According to Goldman, tickets will be priced at $125.

“Between the boat and the bus rides, that’s where it is expensive,” Goldman said. “That’s why we are charging so much for tickets.”

Goldman added that the PTSA’s budget for grad night is $50,000. In years past, she said Tam has held their grad night at the Mill Valley Community Center. This year, the community center closed its doors for grad night celebrations which forced the PTSA to spend significantly more money for a venue.

Goldman and the PTSA acknowledge the steep price of the tickets, so they, along with the Tam administration, will be offering financial assistance for those who are unable to afford the grad night tickets. Tickets are expected to go on sale soon, and will be available until May 20.

“Because it is on a boat, we have to tell them in advance who’s coming,” Goldman said. “There will be no tickets sold after [May 20]”

Three festivities in just over two months give seniors something to loo forward to to end their time in high school.

“We’ve been working really hard to plan these events,” senior site council representative Scarlett Wilson said. Wilson, who is a part of the ASB class at Tam, has worked with peers as part of the prom committee, and helped plan senior trip.

“It’s going to be a great way to wrap up senior year. The class of 2025 should be super excited for what’s to come,” Wilson said.
