Photos: Edna construction moves along

The 18-month reconstruction of Edna Maguire Elementary School is well underway. The initial plan to reconstruct the school was met with some opposition at first, but is now on track to be completed by January, 2014. Portable classrooms are also being installed for the 2012-2013 school year, which starts September 10th.

The project, handled by Van Pelt Construction Services, is estimated to cost $30 million.

Portables have been placed where the big parking lot used to stand.
Barney Tree still stands tall amidst the construction.
Portables have also been placed on part of Alto field for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year.
