On September 6, the Tam boys varsity water polo team faced the Northgate Mustangs at home in a 7-2 victory. A dominant offense and defense with contributions from freshman Jackson Hettler, junior Alec Williams, senior Austin Wimberley and senior Elliot Ordway made for a very successful game for Tam. “I think our whole team was playing good defense and I think thats what contributed most to the win,” said Jackson Hettler, the second freshman on varsity in the teams history.
“Overall they played with a great effort. Northgate is a great NCS team so that puts us in good shape for what we want to be in the NCS,” said coach Bob Kustel. “It was one of our toughest non-league games of the year, and they came out ready to play. Their defense was very solid, and their offense was patient, and I was very pleased overall.”
