On June 22, the Governing Board of the Tamalpais Union High School District approved the recommendation of the selection committee to hire JC Farr as the new Principal of Tamalpais High School after an extensive search.
“We are confident that Mr. Farr will bring professional experience, strong intellectual presence and dynamic, stable leadership to the Tamalpais High School community.” wrote Assistant Superintendent Lars Christensen in an email sent out to parents on June 24.
According to the email, Farr currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Menlo-Atherton High School in the Sequoia Union High School District. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Principal of Castro Valley High School in the Castro Valley Unified School District. He has also served as a teacher, department chairperson, and a content lead teacher with the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
Farr’s hiring follows the departure of Julie Synyard, who resigned as principal on November 1 of the 2015-16 school year and the end of interim principal David Brown’s time at Tam who served until the end of the year. Farr will begin his tenure with the Tamalpais Union High School District on July 1, 2016.
