The College of Marin (COM) is offering up to 11 credit hours of classes for free this spring semester to high school students with its new program, “Jumpstart.” “I think this new program is pretty awesome because it just makes everything a lot more accessible to [students],” sophomore Misbah Mamoon said. “I think the classes at COM just offer a lot more variety.”
The program covers all class charges except for a $40 fee that allows access to the health facilities, technology, the library, and student activities, as well as individual class material requirements. All textbooks used in COM classes are available at the COM library.
Registration started December 3, and an email sent out November 30 by College and Career Counselor Leslie Roberts outlined the steps for enrollment, as well as other useful information. For more information, Roberts is available at the College and Career Center, or contact your counselor or the COM Counseling Department at (415) 485-9432.
