Youth volunteers can be nominated to win the Heart of Marin’s “Youth Volunteer of the Year” award, which recognizes up to five middle and high school students for their commitment and contribution to a Marin nonprofit organization. Recipients of the award will each win $1,000. The winners will be announced at the annual Heart of Marin Awards celebration, which is hosted by the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL). This celebration will take place at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall on Thursday, January 7, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. In addition to this award, other nominated volunteers, nonprofits, and businesses will be receive $5,000.
Anyone can nominate an individual or organization for their positive contribution to the community by going to the CVNL wesbite’s page for the Heart of Marin Awards (http://cvnl.org/2015hom/), downloading the PDF form, and mailing six copies to the address listed on the website. Self nominations are allowed. According the CVNL website, “nominees must be affiliated with or be a nonprofit organization serving Marin County.”
There are eight categories for nomination: Achievement in NP (nonprofit) Excellence, Volunteer of the Year, Excellence in Board Leadership, Excellence in Leadership, Excellence in Innovation, Corporate Community Service, Youth Volunteer of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
