The Hawks girls basketball team lost to the Redwood Giants 71-9 on Friday Jan. 9. This was the Hawks first Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) game. Coming into the game the Hawks were sitting at a 4-7 record, with Redwood at 8-4. “It was a good experience playing against senior athletes and D1 recruits,” said Freshman Maggie Maher. While the Hawks squad consists mostly of underclassmen, the Redwood team is the opposite with mostly upperclassmen, including senior Kitty White, who is committed to Cal State Monterey Bay and senior Brooke Denler, who has received offers to play Division I basketball at Colgate, U Penn, and Cornell. The Hawks look to add a win to their record on Tuesday against Terra Linda at home.
