From basketball to field hockey, Tam High has a sports history full of accolades. However, the Hawks’ past is unknown to many students throughout the campus. On Tuesday January 13th Tam made an effort to illuminate this blind spot, by introducing a touch screen television in the hallway entrance to the George Gustafson Gym. The TV features a history of Tamalpais sports, and a list of the current Tam Hall of Fame inductees.
It’s part of a broader effort to bring the Tam community together by highlighting Hawks’ sports history that began with the first Tam hall of fame class being inducted in early Oct. On this touchscreen, the current Hawks students and attendees of games in Gus gym can take a look into Tam history, and former players can reminisce on memories, records, and photos. Not only will the touchscreen depict Hawks past, but also current game schedules. “(We are) celebrating the Tam story and heritage, bringing stories to life for students, parents, and staff,” said Derek Scobie, the president of Tam boosters and founder of Tam TV. Boosters and staff look forward to adding new inductees into the hall of fame, and bringing light to the Hawks bright sports history.
