Just a short stroll from Tam can land you at Juice Girl, a well-known Mill Valley juice bar that is more than just a popular lunch spot for Tam students. They sell delicious smoothies, acai bowls, soups, and salads that will never fail to please you. Since I love visiting local businesses, I had to come here on a Tuesday afternoon.
I quickly arrived at Juice Girl after the final bell rang. Right after walking through the door, I ordered three items: the Eggcellent Avocado, the Mango Mania, and the Pizza Square. I wanted to see if this place was able to meet—or even exceed my expectations.
The first item I ordered was the Eggcellent Avocado. It is an avocado toast with sliced eggs on top and a drizzle of olive oil. It has a heavenly taste that you can’t find anywhere else. Biting into it, I immediately knew it was the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life. It definitely shattered my expectations. If you ever come to Juice Girl, this should be the first thing you order.
The second item I ordered was the Mango Mania smoothie. The Mango Mania is a must-have if you come to Juice Girl. The blended mango, banana, and yogurt smoothie was a treat. It’s creamy, savory, and mouthwatering, definitely living up to my expectations. I thought the smoothie could have been mixed more thoroughly, but I loved it.
The third and final thing I ordered was the Pizza Square. It’s for sure savory. The Pizza Square is a piece of bread with a thin layer of sauce and cheese on top. Although it tasted delicious, it could have used more salt. Despite that, Juice Girl is one of my favorite businesses in Mill Valley.
Nubia Hernandez, a Juice Girl employee, shared that business is doing well at the moment. “I decided to work at Juice Girl because I knew the owners,” she said. “We have a lot of good people that work here. More people are coming here, especially since we are adding more things like ice cream. [Delicious food] is what people want. Right now, we have a lot of fast food around here, and you can’t really find good food that is healthy at a lot of places.”
Aimee Cambrano, another Juice Girl employee, notes that “we spend a lot of time looking for organic, healthy products. Not everyone likes healthy things, so we have to make [our items] enjoyable for the consumer.”
Juice Girl excels at making nutritious yet delicious food. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat healthy food that will exceed your expectations. Visiting Juice Girl has changed my perception of what healthy food is—I’ve come to the realization that healthy food doesn’t need to taste bland.
