Tamalpais girls Softball will be looking to enhance their play this year after the mediocre 2025 season last year. The Hawks went 6-8 in the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) last season and are retaining some talented players from last year.
Seniors Ava Lee and Zoe Pletcher had very solid seasons last year and have started right where they left off. Ava Lee had 2 hits in the first game; Pletcher reached base 4 times and scored 3 times. Juniors Delphine McGrane and Leah Graveline also had solid seasons last year and will be key pieces to the team. Graveline collected a hit in the Hawks first game.
McGrane said, “The strengths of our team are definitely the bonds we’ve made. We have a lot of freshmen on the team. We are focusing on team bonding and making sure we all know each other and work well together on and off the field.” Freshman Cedra Crews will be a valuable addition to the team as well this upcoming season. Crews smacked a double in the Hawks first game. McCrane provided some background on Crews: “(Crews) has played baseball for most of her life, but she decided to come over to the softball team. She is really good and is starting at third base.” Ava Lee had an amazing season on the mound last year and will be given the keys to the kingdom again this year.
Coach Lynnette Egenlauf is entering her second year of coaching the softball team at Tam. Egenlauf also coaches girls varsity basketball here at Tam which gives her diverse coaching knowledge. With Ava Lee’s college level pitching and the Hawks improving offense, they will look to reach the MCAL playoffs.
