Tam varsity football faced off against San Rafael in an away match up on Thursday, October 2 where their offense overwhelmed the Bulldogs 56-0.Only one touchdown was scored in the first quarter on a nine yard run by senior halfback Daverick Smith, but then team followed by scoring five more touchdowns, generating a 42 point lead, before halftime.

Sophomore quarterback Jack Harris completed 8 of 16 passing attempts for 243 yards and four touchdowns. The run game complemented Harris’ performance, totaling 233 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

The only real threat to Tam’s shutout came during the second quarter when San Rafael was on the Tam 36 yard line on fourth down and short. Senior Pablo Salinas came up with the stop by driving San Rafael back a few yards, forcing a turnover on downs. “The defense did well, we started out a little slow but didn’t give up any big plays and came back around to lock it up pretty quick,” senior defensive end, Chris Vogt, said.

The Hawks will travel to Marin Catholic October 18 to face the Wildcats.
